Atlanta, GA, September 27, 1995 -- Starlight Networks, Inc. has signed
an agreement with IBM Corporation
that combines its leadership strength
in multimedia networking with IBM's powerful RISC server technology to deliver
a powerful video server solution for the corporate marketplace.
Starlight Networks has signed a worldwide development agreement for Starlight's
StarWorks® multimedia networking software supporting the AIX 4.x operating
system on IBM's RISC System/6000 platforms. In addition, Starlight has licensed
StarWorks for AIX to IBM. StarWorks for AIX delivers a powerful, scalable
UNIX-based multimedia server solution that meets the needs of customers
needing to distribute video-on-demand applications, both live broadcast

retail businesses, among others.
"Multimedia data is becoming a key element in our customers' IT equation,"said Mike Zarrillo, manager of Commercial Solutions, IBM Corporation. "Starlight
Networks is a leader in enabling corporate multimedia networks, and StarWorks
for AIX with the RS/6000 will provide customers with a high performance,
scalable video server solution."
"We are pleased to be working with IBM, a leader in the computing industry,
to provide multimedia networking solutions," said Jim Long, president
of Starlight Networks. "The scalability and high performance of the
RS/6000 makes it an optimal platform for supporting the distribution of
high quality video. The availability of StarWorks for AIX on the RS/6000
platform will bring networked multimedia to mission-critical markets where
the RS/6000 is widely used, such as in higher education, retail, entertainment,
and financial applications. The RS/6000 server platform broadens Starlight's
already strong open systems position"
